The show-timing suite for stage managers and technical directors.

Getting Started

SMBox organizes your timing around projects, with one project per show. Each project holds any mix of:

Open a project to go straight to the timing screen. Tap Configure at the bottom to add or reorder functions. Tap a timer to start or stop it, swipe left to reset, and use Share to send your session as a text file.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do interactions (automation) work?

Interactions let one timer automatically start or stop another. Edit a timer, then add a Start or Stop Interaction. For example, when Intermission starts, you can have Act One stop automatically. This lets a show run itself once you begin.

Does SMBox sync across my devices?

Yes. If you are signed in to iCloud, your projects sync automatically through your private iCloud account. Your data is also saved on the device, so the app works without a connection.

Why does it say "iCloud Sync, Not signed in"?

That means the device is not signed in to an iCloud account. Open the iOS Settings app, sign in with your Apple ID, and SMBox will begin syncing. Your data is still safely stored on the device in the meantime.

How do I delete a project?

On the projects screen, press and hold a project card and choose Delete. This removes it from your device and from iCloud.

How do I share my times?

On the timing screen, tap Share. SMBox creates a text file of your session that you can send via Mail, Messages, AirDrop, WhatsApp, Files, or any other app on your device.

How do I reset a timer or the whole session?

Swipe left on any timer to reset just that one. To reset everything, tap Reset in the bottom toolbar of the timing screen.

Is my data private?

Yes. SMBox collects no personal data, has no ads or tracking, and never sends your projects to us. See our Privacy Policy.
